Active & Planned Projects

30th Street Station District Plan

Under construction

Timeline: Phase 1 underway 2024–2027; full plan through ~2030

A multi-billion-dollar overhaul led by Amtrak, SEPTA, PennDOT, and Brandywine Realty Trust. Includes restoration of the historic main hall, new mixed-use development on adjacent parcels, expanded retail concourse, modernized SEPTA platforms, and improved street-level connections to University City.

Impact: Most of the work happens behind hoarding without major service impact. Some temporary entrance changes and phased platform closures. When complete, 30th Street will be one of the most modern intercity stations in the US while preserving its 1933 Neoclassical architecture.
